Brelene Laskoski began dancing at the age of 14 at Canterbury Arts High School in Ottawa. Then, joined the competitive team at Leeming Danceworks Inc. After graduating high school she moved to Toronto to pursue dance as an independent artist. There she had the chance to work with artists such as Ryan Lee, Jasmyn Fyffe, Danni Grossman, Jen Dallas, Darryl Tracy and more. Brelene has trained in ballet, jazz, Graham, Horton, Limon, hip hop, contemporary, and improvisation.
Brelene has taught throughout the Ottawa and Toronto area and was an assistant for Fresh Ottawa 2018. She has performed in Rooted Contemporary Dance Showcase, Dancer’s Give Back, Young Creators Challenge, and various dance video projects. Brelene has choreographed solos, duets/trios, and small and large groups for personal projects, school projects, competition, Choreographer’s Ball Toronto, Fever After Dark, and Young Creators Challenge. One of her larger choreography project was a 20 minute piece entitled “Canary in a Coalmine” for the Toronto event “Escapade” produced by Signature Dance Inc. Most recently she choreographed a piece for an event called Let the Elephants Dance in Toronto. During covid Brelene has had the opportunity to pursue certified training and workshops that include Progressing Ballet Technique, Alixa Flexibility, and Athletix Academy. Brelene is now diving deeper into her teaching and is excited to teach virtually for KV Dance Studio.
